This is the good surprise of this month of June 2024, CircusBet is a new bookmaker available in the French regulated market. Launched on June 5, CircusBet is now the 16th legal betting site in the country.

CircusBet is replacing BarrièreBet

Circusbet has obtained an ANJ (formerly ARJEL) license number, but it did not do this on his own. The bookmaker launched the website www.circusbet.fr in France using the existing license of BarrièreBet, another French betting platform, which had closed its doors on May 31st 2024.

More and more bookmakers are using this method to enter highly regulated markets like France. We have already seen the cases of Vbet which shared its license number and Olybet which should arrive soon by taking over the license number of France Pari. We still don’t know at that stage what it will mean for former Barrière Bet players, if a welcome offer is ever available on CircusBet.

Circus already have some activities in France

Since 2018, Circus Casino France has operated the Briançon casino and recently strengthened its presence with the acquisition, on March 25, of the Vals-les-Bains casino in Ardèche. With this new acquisition, the group, owned by the Belgian company Gaming 1, now has six establishments in France. The group has great ambitions on the French market, particularly with its online betting site. Gaming1 is working with BetConstruct on this CircusBet project.

Gaming1 is most known for its flagship brand, Circus, which operates within the Belgian gambling and sports betting market. Gaming1 already has brands present in, on top of other regions in Europe such as Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland.

CircusBet online platform

As for the betting site from CircusBet, the bookmaker has chosen a dedicated TLD French domain circusbet.fr. For more details on CircusBet in France, you can go to the website lebonparisportif.com, a bookmaker comparator in France, who published a review of CircusBet (in French).
