LA Knight set to defend the United States Championship as new challenger emerges after SmackDown 9/13 | WWE News – Times of India

After a long-running feud, LA Knight finally defeated Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2024 and became the United States Champion by doing so. During his short reign of 42 days, Knight has already defended his title three times. So, he already has one more title defense than Logan Paul did in a reign that lasted a total of 273 days.
Now, the Megastar has yet another title defense lined up for next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. Andrade and Carmelo Hayes have fought each other week in and week out, and their series’ score stood at 2-2 ahead of tonight’s clash. Unfortunately, Hayes did not have enough in the tank to defeat Andrade tonight, who ended up winning the series 3-2 and has also earned himself a shot at the United States Championship. Let’s take a look at what we can expect from this matchup.

LA Knight vs. Andrade set for WWE SmackDown on September 20, 2024

Andrade is a high-flying superstar who brings a ton of intensity to his matches. Over the last few months, we have seen the quality of his work during his ongoing feud with Carmelo Hayes. If Andrade performs anywhere close to how he has against Hayes and manages to find some kind of chemistry with Knight, then we should be in for quite an entertaining title defense next week.
On the other hand, we have LA Knight, the Megastar. Over the last few weeks, Knight has shown insane resilience to hold onto his belt and even successfully defended his title after being ambushed before the match. Knight had to pry the belt out of Logan Paul’s hands, something that took both a lot of time and a lot of effort, so he will not be ready to part ways with it just yet.
We can expect the Megastar to be on his A game as he prepares for his fourth title defense in a title reign that has not even lasted for 50 days yet. At the rate he’s going, LA Knight might end up defending his title at least a dozen times before his reign comes to an end.
