Local Firefighters participate in 9/11 stair climb

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Crunch Fitness in Wichita Falls held its annual 9/11 remembrance stair climb challenge today.

This event involves climbing 110 flights of stairs, symbolizing the 110 floors of the World Trade Center Twin Towers.

Local firefighters came out in full gear to participate in the step mills paying tribute to the first responders who lost their lives on that fateful day.

We spoke to the event organizers of this event who had this to say.

“So today we had our 9/11 stair climb challenge and it is just to honor the fallen heroes of 9/11. We just invite our Member base out to come and compete in the challenge. They don’t have to walk 110 flights, but that’s the challenge and we just ask that they come out and just kind of honor those.” Crunch Fitness General Manager Tamlyn Robinson.

Crunch Fitness will be running the challenge all day while featuring a board for participants to write their scores.
