Walmart To Offer Fashion Deals Under $5 for Holiday

Walmart‘s holiday deals start on Oct. 8, including home and fashion finds for under $5.

The mass discounter didn’t disclose what home and fashion deals would be offered at under $5.

“Stylish fashion finds at incredible prices like plush robes, family PJ sets, puffer coats and fleece jackets, boots and slippers, and top brands like Levi’s and Reebok as well as Walmart’s exclusive, elevated brands Free Assembly, Scoop and Sofia Jeans by Sofia Vergara,” Walmart said of some fashion offerings for holiday this year.

It did note men’s long sleeve tees under the brand name George would be discounted to $5 from its original price of $6.98, and its Wonder Nation boys jeans and Girl’s fashion leggings would be offered at $10, down from $13.98.

As for home, Walmart said on-trend home goods at the retailer’s everyday low prices include “vacuums, small appliances and décor from Jinja, Beautiful by Drew Barrymore and Better Homes & Gardens.”

The discounter also noted a newly expanded Marketplace assortment on Walmart.com across key gifting categories that include sneakers from StockX, collectibles and premium beauty.

The holiday deals begin on Oct. 8-13, which coincides with the start of Amazon’s October Prime event on Oct. 8-9. Walmart+ members get exclusive early access starting at midnight. All other customers can begin shopping online and on the Walmart app starting at 12:00 p.m. The deals will be available in stores starting on Oct. 9. Walmart noted that even after the October kickoff, it mas more deals and events planned for later in the season, including for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Convenience options this year include Early Morning delivery starting at 6:00 a.m., while Express Delivery is possible as soon as 30 minutes. “New this year, the retailer is using new AI technology to expand its delivery scope to reach an additional 12 million households,” Walmart said.

“We know many of our customers are beginning to prepare for their holiday celebrations early, and we’ve adapted our approach to best meet their needs,” Latriece Watkins, Walmart’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Walmart U.S., said. “We’ve worked hard to lower prices across our most exciting assortment ever, and we’re thrilled to give customers more of what they want this holiday—more time to prepare and more opportunities to save all season long.”

Like last year, Walmart chose not to disclose how many additional staff it might hire for the holiday season. The discounter said instead that it has been “hiring associates throughout the year and will offer additional hours to current associates where needed.” In addition, Walmart stores will be closed again on Thanksgiving Day.

Th discounter said it will offer inflation-free holiday meals weeks beginning Oct. 14 through Dec. 25. The inflation-free Thanksgiving meal, offered last year, is returning this year but priced lower. Customers also have the option online for a “buy one, give one donation.”

Walmart is also working with The Salvation Army to give customers options for charitable giving. Options include donating via The Salvation Army’s Red Kettles outside a Walmart store or buying gifts for children through its Angel Tree program.

Walmart said it was providing earlier and longer periods for holiday savings this year “in response to customers’ changing shopping habits.”
