Veikkaus reaches termination agreement for casino lease

Veikkaus has struck a deal with the Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland, to terminate the lease for the casino housed within.

The Casino Tampere property has been out of use since December 2023 when it closed.

Finland’s state-owned gambling company Veikkaus and the arena had a temporary contract premises but had been looking for a way to offer the plot a new lease of life.

“In good spirit, we have been looking for a solution for the early termination of the lease agreement and it has now been found, said Tiina Siltanen, head of Veikkaus.

“It is positive for all parties that the facilities will be used again.”

Nokia Arena CEO Marko Hurme added that his company will take over the premises at the beginning of next year with more details to follow in due course.
