UKGC publishes new market impact data
The UK’s Gambling Commission has published fresh data, sourced from operators, on gambling behaviour both online and in high-street licensed betting venues.
In the quarter ending September 30, 2024, gross gambling yield (GGR) was up 11 per cent on the previous year to £1.32bn.
In real event betting, the number of bets decreased 10 per cent against the previous year, yet the GGY increased by six per cent to £453m.
In slots, the GGY increased 16 per cent to £680m, with the number of spins increasing 13 per cent to 23.3bn.
Meanwhile, the number of online slots sessions lasting longer than an hour increased by nine per cent YoY to 10m. The average session length remained at 17 minutes.
