Not only will the men continue to battle for the one currently held by the Megastar, LA Knight, amongst other titles, but now the ladies can lock horns for their version of it as well.
“The women of WWE continue to show that they are the very best in the business,” said chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “The Women’s United States Championship will showcase their continued effort. So, who’s going to step up and take it?”
This is massive news after months of speculation regarding the possible addition of a Women’s Intercontinental Championship — fans and superstars alike literally pleading for a belt that injects more firepower into the midcard portion of the women’s roster.
They got their wish on this week’s episode of Smackdown, as general manager Nick Aldis so eloquently announced.
Go get it, ladies.
It’s there for the taking now, and the WWE Universe is dying to see who’ll be the first to wear it.
