Is the Grey Cup on TV in USA? How to watch 2024 CFL championship game in United States | Sporting News

While the NFL is in the middle of its season, the CFL season is coming to a close with the 111th Grey Cup on Sunday.

This year, the Toronto Argonauts will take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, which is a rematch of the 2022 Grey Cup that was won by the Argonauts. The Blue Bombers are playing in their fifth-straight Grey Cup, but they are currently on a two-game losing streak in the game after winning in both 2019 and 2021.

This will be Winnipeg’s 29th Grey Cup appearance, the most all time. Toronto’s 18 Grey Cup wins are the most in league history. The two teams are each in the top three for most Grey Cup wins, as they have a combined 30 wins in the game.

The 111th Grey Cup will be played in Vancouver, and the Jonas Brothers are slated to perform at the game’s halftime show. Here is what you need to know about viewing options for the Grey Cup in America.

How to watch Grey Cup in USA

  • Date: Sunday, Nov. 17
  • Time: 6 p.m. ET
  • TV Channel: CBS Sports Network
  • Live Stream: CFL+, Fubo

Once again, the Grey Cup will be broadcast on television in America, with CBS Sports Network carrying the game live on Sunday.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have the biggest game of the season on CBS Sports Network,” CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie said in a statement last month.

“Since the day we announced this partnership, our American fans have wanted nothing more than to see the Grey Cup on TV. And now, with this momentous announcement, the countdown begins to the sights, surprises and spectacle that we have in store for Vancouver.”

ESPN used to broadcast the game, but the network didn’t renew its deal with the CFL before last year’s championship. After the CFL didn’t have an American TV deal for the Grey Cup last year, it agreed to one for 2024.

American viewers who don’t have access to CBS Sports Network can still watch by streaming on either CFL+ or Fubo, the latter of which offers a free trial to new users.

For a limited time, you can get your first month of Fubo for as low as $59.99, a $20 savings. Stream ESPN, ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and 200-plus top channels of live TV and sports without cable. (Participating plans only. Taxes and fees may apply.)

The USA is the only country outside of Canada that will broadcast the Grey Cup on television. The rest of the world will need to stream the game.

What is CFL+?

CFL+ is the league’s streaming platform for international viewers. It is completely free to access and does not require users to create an account.

The league had been looking to bring a direct-to-consumer streaming option for the American audience, and with their deal with ESPN expiring before the 2023 season, the CFL elected to establish CFL+ as a viewing option in the United States.

According to the CFL, this is how you can access games through CFL+:

  • Sign up by clicking on the event you want to watch below and completing the form. You will not be asked to sign up again if you continue to watch on the same device.
  • The stream will start no later than five minutes prior to kickoff. You will not be able to pause, rewind or fast forward during the stream.
  • Games will not be available on demand, so make sure you tune in live!

CFL+ can be viewed through a desktop, tablet or mobile device.
