US President-elect Donald Trump picks businessman Warren Stephens for UK ambassador – Times of India

US President-elect Donald Trump picked businessman Warren Stephens as ambassador to the United Kingdom on Monday (US time).
“I am pleased to announce that Warren A Stephens, one of the most successful businessmen in the Country, has been nominated to serve as the United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s, a role in which he will act as our Representative to the United Kingdom,” Trump announced in a post on social media.
Warren Stephens leads Stephens Inc. as chairman, president, and CEO. The privately held financial services company operates from its headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas. A significant Republican party supporter, he served as a fundraising bundler for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign in 2012. Despite initially backing conservative organisations that opposed Trump in 2016, the Arkansas billionaire, who inherited the business from his father, later shifted his support to Trump for both the 2020 and 2024 presidential races.
On his post, Trump also said that over the last 38 years Warren has built a wonderful financial services firm, while selflessly giving back to his community as a philanthropist.
