Breece Hall’s absence creates fantasy emergency with Jets’ untested rookies | Sporting News
If for some reason you’ve had Braelon Allen stashed away on your fantasy football team’s bench, now is the time to use him.
The New York Jets have ruled out starting running back Breece Hall for the December 8 road game against the Miami Dolphins, undoubtedly leaving fantasy managers scrambling to find a RB1 replacement in Week 14.
Managers who stayed with an Allen-Hall handcuff this entire season have gained little to date, but that could change on Sunday in Miami Gardens. The 20-year-old Allen figures to carry a bulk of the work load against the Dolphins. He has carried 67 times this season, which is second on the team to Hall’s 164 totes.
After the Jets made the Wisconsin product the No. 134 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Allen, who is larger than the average running back, has flashed power and explosion in limited opportunities although his stats may not be overly impressive. The rookie running back averages 3.6 yards per rush and has had five or fewer carries in six of his last eight games.
Allen has some value as a receiver out of the backfield, too. He has secured 12 of 18 targets for 97 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown, this season.

Fifth-round rookie Isaiah Davis should get touches on Sunday as a complement to Allen. He played 12 offensive snaps in the Week 13 loss to Seattle, but has carried only five times all season.
It’s not an ideal position to be in, but fantasy managers relying on Hall may be able to survive the week with Allen. Although, should the underdog Jets fall behind early on the road against the Dolphins, the rookie’s opportunities will likely disappear.
