Bengals RB Chase Brown mocks Cowboys legend with touchdown celebration | Sporting News

The Cincinnati Bengals have been impressive on offense most of the season — at least when their offensive line holds up and Joe Burrow has protection.

The Bengals’ defense has been a much different story and one of the reasons that despite having so much talent on offense, Cincinnati entered Monday night’s matchup vs. the Dallas Cowboys with a (4-8) record largely because the Bengals haven’t been able to stop their opponents this season.

Cincinnati entered the game with the No. 27 defense in the league, allowing 369.2 yards per game and 41 touchdowns heading into Monday night’s clash vs. the NFC East squad.

Luckily for the Bengals, the Cowboys have struggled both offensively and defensively in 2024. Dallas starting QB Dak Prescott is out for the season and the Cowboys have struggled to find offensive success with Cooper Rush at QB.

Even when Prescott was healthy earlier this season, the Cowboys looked like a shell of the team that came into the year with three-straight 10-win seasons.

It’s no surprise Joe Burrow and the Bengals’ offense found plenty of success in the first half, punting just once and converting four of their seven attempts on third down.

While most of the Bengals’ early success came through the air — with Burrow throwing for more than 200 yards in the first 30 minutes and Ja’Marr Chase dominating with 8 catches for almost 90 yards and a touchdown — Cincinnati switched it up as the second quarter ended and caught Dallas off guard.

Instead of finding Chase downfield like the Bengals were doing early in the game, Burrow connected with RB Chase Brown on a simple screen pass to the .The speedy Cincinnati ball-carrier bursted through a wall of blockers, tip-toed along the sideline and leaped into the end zone, brushing against the pylon to give his squad a 17-10 edge.

While the touchdown was impressive in itself, Brown took things to a whole new level while on the road in Dallas playing at AT&T Stadium.

Over the years, Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott has made a tradition of leaping into the giant blown up version of the Salvation Army kettle that is always a few feet away from the end zone during the holiday season.

On Monday night, Brown decided to mock Elliott, by leaping into the Salvation kettle himself.

The Cowboys put together a comeback, though, and currently lead 20-17 at the start of the fourth quarter.
