Regulation highlighted in Slotegrator’s 2025 igaming forecast

Online casino solutions provider Slotegrator has published the second part of its 2025 forecast for the igaming industry.

The company said players seeing a selection of games curated to their preferences in an operator’s lobby will become commonplace, as will personalised recommendations if studios players follow release a new title.

“As the sports betting boom continues in Africa, African regulators will continue to chase stability,” the report says.

“Lawmakers in South Africa have floated the prospect of legalising online casinos, and while the proposal, presented by the opposition party, likely won’t go far, it does indicate a certain level of support for the idea.

“In Asia, Vietnam and Thailand could be moving towards a regulated private market soon, and Japan is looking to build its first brick-and-mortar casino. Even the United Arab Emirates is making plans to build its first casino.

“A wave of regulation is washing over South America. Brazil is set to finally introduce its legal gambling market in 2025, a much-anticipated move.

“Peru and Colombia are adjusting their tax rates, while Paraguay might move to abolish its government monopoly, and Argentina is looking to introduce new regulations in areas like advertising.”
Slotegrator’s report also highlights potential regulatory movements in the likes of Germany, the Netherlands, France and several US states.

Part one, released in November, said AI will enable new levels of personalisation, fraud detection and player engagement.

Elsewhere, Slotegrator’s recount of its 2024 activity revealed it had launched over 250 projects.

Its APIgrator game aggregation solution welcomed more than 60 igaming providers, while total betting volume rose by 76 per cent and gross gaming revenue climbed by 79 per cent.
