The most destructive fires in the history of Los Angeles have ravaged the the City of Angels, with flames spreading throughout the western American state of California. There are at least six major fires that are raging across the state: at the time of writing, the infernos are believed to have left at least ten dead and hundreds of thousands homeless. The death toll, however, is expected to climb as the ashes of the wake clear, and despite hundreds of firefighters being pressed into service, the fires are far from being contained.
