Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke was central to their incredible 4-3 EFL Cup quarterfinal win over Manchester United.
Ona chaotic night in North London, Solanke scored Spurs’ first and third goals, as captain Son Heung-min eventually won it for Ange Postecoglou’s team – who edged into the final four.
However, as the score line suggests, it was far from plain sailing for Spurs, as their mistakes saw a three-goal lead surrendered, as United hauled the contest back to 3-2 with 20 minutes to go.

Tottenham were forced to live on their nerves in the closing stages, as substitute Amad Diallo scored in the fourth minute of added time, but they held on.
Spurs’ last trophy win infamously came via the EFL Cup back in 2008 and Solanke believes their grit and unity will be crucial this season.

“Being 3-0 up, we could have dealt with the game better, killed some time but we made it hard for ourselves. The important thing is we won and we’re through,” as per Sky Sports, via BBC Sport.
“That’s football sometimes, we stick together. Mistakes are a part of football, we dug in, showed spirit and got the job done.
“Scoring against a team like Man United is great, but the most important thing is to win today, and get to the semifinal.”
Tottenham host Liverpool in a crunch Premier League clash on December 22 alongside being paired with Arne Slot’s team in the final four.
