Fury vs. Usyk start time: When the fight will begin & time difference from Saudi Arabian to American time | Sporting News
After several delays and heated press conferences, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will step into the middle of the ring and settle things on May 18. The fight to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion is in Saudi Arabia and airs on DAZN and ESPN+ in the U.S.
Fury is a former lineal heavyweight champion and the current WBC champion. “The Gypsy King” delayed the fight twice: once after fighting Francis Ngannou and another time after Fury suffered a cut in training. Though he won, Fury was unprepared for the Ngannou fight, getting knocked down by the former UFC heavyweight champion.

Heading into this fight, Fury is not messing around. He looks in phenomenal shape and has stayed off social media. Still, the man with the gift of gab believes whatever shape he comes in, a career heavyweight will take care of a cruiserweight-turned-heavyweight.
“I think if I didn’t train at all for this camp and came in at 25 stone and sank 15 pints of Peroni beforehand, then the next day go in there … what’s he (Usyk) going to do? Jib and jab me around?” Fury said via ESPN. “Take nothing away from him, but he couldn’t do anything with Derek Chisora, it was a 50-50 fight.”
Usyk is a former undisputed cruiserweight champion. He moved to the heavyweight division in 2019 and has taken on all comers. He beat Anthony Joshua twice for the IBF, WBA, WBO, and Ring belts, the latter held by Fury until a brief retirement forced the belt off him.
While he makes time for jokes, the Ukrainian has been strictly business when it comes to fighting Fury. His manager, Alexander Krassyuk, believes his calm demeanor will help determine the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999.
“I can tell you about the secret weapon of Usyk’s, the only problem is it’s not a secret,” Krassyuk said via Sky Sports. “His weapon is his mind, his heart, his experience, and boxing skills. And the main thing about him that is different from Tyson Fury is his discipline. That is what makes him great, and it is his toughest weapon.”
