Harris appears with Charlamagne tha God in Detroit; Trump cancels CNBC interview
In a combative appearance at the Economic Club of Chicago, Donald Trump clashed with Bloomberg editor John Micklethwait over his tariff plans, refused to accept basic mathematics, swerved a question on his interactions with Vladimir Putin since leaving office, offered his revisionist version of January 6, and again trash-talked Detroit.
This comes amid concerns over his health and mental acuity and the accusation by Democratic rival Kamala Harris that he is “increasingly unstable and unhinged” after a threat over the weekend to deploy the National Guard or even the military against American citizens.
The former president appeared in that state on Monday night when his town hall event in suburban Philadelphia turned into a confused, impromptu dance party when two people in the audience suffered medical emergencies.
Trump was left bizarrely bopping his head on stage for 39 minutes to a selection of pop music and show tunes leading Harris to tweet: “Hope he’s okay.”
Meanwhile, in a move to reach out to Black male voters, Harris is currently appearing on an audio town hall hosted by Charlamagne Tha God, who is especially popular with the demographic. On Monday the vice president announced a series of new proposals dubbed the “Opportunity Agenda for Black Men.”

Harris talks about participation and Trump’s campaign being about ‘fear’
Kamala Harris to Charlamagne tha God on the importance of voter participation: “You can’t let anybody take you out of the game by not voting. The solutions are not gonna just happen overnight … the things that we want and are prepared to fight for won’t happen if we’re not active and don’t participate.”
Harris says Trump is about fear: “He is running full-time on a campaign that is about instilling fear not about hope.. Look what he did and saying that those legal immigrants in Springfield Ohio were eating their pets.”
Charlamagne asks why Harris allows him to call her the border czar when that wasn’t her role.
Harris: “If I respond to every name he called me, I wouldn’t be focused on the things that actually help the American people. And that’s my focus.”

Harris agrees Trump’s vision is about ‘fascism’
In her audio town hall with Charlamagne tha God, Vice President Kamala Harris agreed with the radio host when he characterized Donald Trump’s vision for America as “fascism”.
“You have two choices…It’s two very different visions for our nation. Mine is about taking us forward and progress and investing in the American people, investing in their ambitions, dealing with their challenges. And the other Donald Trump’s is taking us backward.”
Charlamagne added that the other is about fascism: “Why can’t we just say that?”
Harris: “Yes, we can say that.”
When asked about Trump’s plans for the Black community, Harris said: “Ask Donald Trump what his plan is for Black America. Ask him. I’ll tell you what it is. Look at Project 2025. Project 2025 tells you the plan includes making police departments have stop-and-frisk policies.”

Asked about her reputation of sticking to her talking points, Kamala Harris says: “That would be called discipline.” She notes that some things need to be repeated because they are important.
