Jameis Winston creates more unfortunate history in loss to Broncos | Sporting News
The highs and lows of the Jameis Winston experience continued in Denver on Sunday night as the Browns slipped to 3-9 with a loss at Mile High.
In what can only be described as one of the wildest games of the season, Deshaun Watson’s replacement found his way back into the record books by becoming the first player to throw for over 400 yards, four touchdowns, and have two interceptions returned for a touchdown in the same game.

With wide receiver Jerry Jeudy making history by becoming the only player to catch for 235 yards against a former team, the Browns’ 41-32 loss was made less sour with the offense putting up big numbers on a Broncos defense that had allowed the second-fewest points leading into Week 13.
Winston, who signed a one-year contract in Cleveland at the start of the season, figures to be in the Browns’ quarterback calculations next year behind Watson, who is currently out with an Achilles injury.
After setting a single-season record for pick-sixes in 2019 during his time with the Bucs, Winston owned his mistakes after the game, delivering a message that will no doubt enjoy a long shelf life on social media.
“I know I’m better than this. I’m just praying to the lord to deliver me from pick sixes, that’s not me,” Winston told reporters.
The Browns are officially one loss away from being eliminated from playoff contention, now preparing for a rematch with the Steelers only two weeks removed from their upset on Thursday Night Football in the snow.
“The team doesn’t deserve that, we have to finish quarters when it matters most, can’t have bad throws,” Jameis went on to say.
Ranked top five in interceptions, the Steelers’ defense poses another test for Winston as he looks to regain confidence.
