Jesse Marsch could make his long-awaited return to the coaching ranks as reports indicate he is the top choice for South Korea’s vacant post.

Marsch, who formerly coached Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig, has been out of coaching since being fired by Leeds United 14 months ago.

Per a report from Sports Chosun in South Korea, Marsch recently completed an interview for the job in England and is the leader among the final three candidates for the position.

Marsch and the Korea Football Association are set for another meeting this week and a final decision could be made shortly after.

South Korea has been without a coach since former USMNT boss Jurgen Klinsmann was sacked back in February.

He was believed to be one of the front runners for the United States job last year, until US Soccer decided to bring Gregg Berhalter back to his old post.

South Korea isn’t the only nation interested in Marsch – with reports claiming that Canada have contacted him for their vacant men’s national team job.
