Multiple Detroit Lions players among leaders in Pro Bowl voting | Sporting News

We are a little over a week into the Pro Bowl voting process and there are a grand total of four Detroit Lions players who are among the leaders at their respective positions.

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs ranks fifth among players at all positions in Pro Bowl votes. However, he is second at his position in the NFC behind Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, and he’s third in the entire league at running back behind Barkley and Baltimore Ravens rusher Derrick Henry.

The other five Lions who are among the leading vote-getters are right tackle Penei Sewell, center Frank Ragnow, guard Kevin Zeitler and running back Sione Vaki (special teams), all of whom rank first at their respective positions in the NFC. Long snapper Hogan Hatten is second among all vote-getters at his position, although he’s second in the NFC.

No other team has accumulated more Pro Bowl votes than the Lions as of now. Here’s a look at where other Lions rank at their positions among the rest of the NFL:

Free Safety: Kerby Joseph – 7th

Strong Safety: Brian Branch – 3rd

Cornerback: Carlton Davis – 7th

Guard: Graham Glasgow – 3rd

Punter: Jack Fox – 5th

Inside Linebacker: Jack Campbell – 10th

Quarterback: Jared Goff – 6th

Tackle: Taylor Decker – 5th

Defensive Tackle: Alim McNeill – 9th

Kicker: Jake Bates – 5th

Running Back: David Montgomery – 8th

Tight End: Sam LaPorta – 7th

Wide Receiver: Amon-Ra St. Brown – 3rd

Pro Bowl voting is done by fans, players and coaches, with each group’s votes counting as one-third.
