New Jersey’s igaming, casino revenue trends continue
New Jersey’s igaming revenue continued its growth trend compared to the US state’s land-based casino sector in April.
Igaming revenue of US$187.9m in the Garden State was the second highest on record and reflected growth of 18.2 per cent year-on-year.
The latest statistics from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement mean online gambling revenue has climbed year-on-year in all four months of 2024 so far.
However, land-based casino revenue in April was down by 6.3 per cent in New Jersey, at $216.8m. And while the figure is still trending above the igaming total, revenue in New Jersey’s land-based sector has declined year-on-year in three of the first four months of the year, apart from a 4.9 per cent increase in March to $239.8m.
Sports betting revenue in New Jersey climbed by 46.9 per cent year-on-year to $106.2m, up from $72.3m in April 2023.
Put together, the stats mean that total gaming revenue in the Garden State for April was $510.9m, up 10.4 per cent from April 2023’s $462.7m.
For the year to date, revenue is up 14.4 per cent to $2.06bn.
