NFL picks, predictions for Week 14: Seahawks top Cardinals, Bengals deal blow to Cowboys’ playoff hopes | Sporting News
Which streak will continue in Week 14?
Three teams have won seven straight games or more, and that list does not include the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, who have a two-game winning streak heading into the Sunday Night Football matchup against the Chargers.
Detroit has won 10 straight games ahead of a Thursday Night Football matchup against rival Green Bay. That is the best game of the week in the NFC, and the Lions aren’t just winning — they’re 8-2 ATS during their streak.
MORE:
Philadelphia is looking to extend an eight-game win streak and is a huge favorite against Carolina. The Eagles are 6-2 ATS during their streak.
Finally, Buffalo is looking to extend a seven-game win streak against the Los Angeles Rams on the road. The Bills are 6-1 ATS during their streak.
We took two of those three teams to cover this week.
At this point, is there anybody not picking Kansas City and Buffalo in the AFC championship and Detroit and Philadelphia in the NFC championship? If these streaks continue, those games are going to materialize.
Each week, we will pick NFL matchups straight up and against the spread. A look at our track record this season:
- Straight up: 124-56 (10-4 in Week 13)
- Against the spread: 104-70-6 (9-5 in Week 13)

NFL picks, predictions for Week 14
- Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions (-3.5)
Thursday, 8:15 p.m., Prime Video
The Packers have not lost since the last meeting against the Lions, and Green Bay won at Ford Field last season. Does that matter here? Watch the rushing yards. Detroit is 6-0 when it rushes for 150 yards or more. Green Bay held the Lions to 124 yards in the first meeting but had too many drops and penalties at Lambeau Field in Week 9. They can’t make as many mistakes on the road.
Pick: Lions 31, Packers 21

- Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans (-3.5)
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
The Jaguars will turn to Mac Jones if Trevor Lawrence (concussion) is out, which will likely be the case. The Titans are 1-2 S/U and 0-3 ATS as a favorite this year. Jacksonville is 1-2 ATS and 0-3 S/U as an underdog of four points or less. Will Levis has just two interceptions in his past four games. We’ll stick with the home team.
Pick: Titans 22, Jaguars 15

- New York Jets at Miami Dolphins (-6.5)
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
The Jets season continues to spiral downward, but Aaron Rodgers will remain the starter. New York has managed just 86.3 rushing yards per game in that losing streak. Miami also struggles to run the ball, meaning Tua Tagovailoa will be counted on against the Jets’ defense. Tagovailoa is 4-0 as a starter against New York, and Miami has won the past eight home meetings in the series. This is the largest spread against the Jets this season.
Pick: Dolphins 25, Jets 22

- Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings (-5)
Sunday, 1 p.m., Fox
The Vikings have mastered the one-score victory with Sam Darnold. He has two TD passes and no interceptions in each of his past three games. Atlanta is 5-4 S/U in games decided by eight points or less, and Kirk Cousins, who has not thrown a TD pass in three games, breaks out of a midseason slump to keep it close against his former team.
Pick: Vikings 30, Falcons 27
MORE: Will Falcons bench Kirk Cousins?
- New Orleans Saints (-5) at New York Giants
Sunday, 1 p.m., Fox
The Giants are 0-6 S/U and average 10 points per game at home this season. New Orleans allowed 156 rushing yards in a loss to the Rams coming out of the bye week. Drew Lock and Tyrone Tracy could have some success, and the Saints are 1-4 S/U on the road this season. We don’t think New York will win, but they will at least make this competitive. The Giants are 3-2 ATS as an underdog of five points more.
Pick: Saints 24, Giants 17
MORE: Taysom Hill injury update
- Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles (-12.5)
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
The Panthers have covered as underdogs in four straight games, and they have lost those games by a combined eight points. Philadelphia has just three turnovers in an eight-game winning streak. The Eagles are playing at a high level, and Saquon Barkley, who has six 100-yard games through that streak, is in the MVP conversation. The Panthers are 2-0 ATS as a double-digit underdog.
Pick: Eagles 31, Panthers 19

- Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5)
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
Cleveland beat Pittsburgh 24-19 on Thursday Night Football in a snow-bound Week 12 matchup. The return favor will be much more difficult for Jameis Winston, and we’ll all continue to enjoy the continued DPOY debate between Pittsburgh edge rusher T.J. Watt and Cleveland’s Myles Garrett. Pittsburgh will take control of this game in the second half, continuing a trend of winning the past three home meetings against the Browns by an average of 10 points per game.
Pick: Steelers 28, Browns 16

- Las Vegas Raiders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-7)
Sunday, 1 p.m., CBS
The Raiders have been eliminated from the AFC playoff picture, and it’s tough to see them pulling out a road victory against the Buccaneers, who are back to .500 after an overtime victory against Carolina. Las Vegas is 4-2 ATS when they are an underdog of seven points or more, and Aidan O’Connell is their best option at quarterback.
Pick: Buccaneers 26, Raiders 20
MORE: NFC South playoff picture
- Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals (-2.5)
Sunday, 4:05 p.m., CBS
The Seahawks beat the Cardinals 16-6 in Week 12 — and not much has changed on the quick turnaround. Seattle has managed just 81 rushing yards per game through a three-game win streak, and those troubles could pop up on the road. We still think they will continue to win around the high-percentage passing attack led by Geno Smith. They can take control of the NFC West race here.
Pick: Seahawks 21, Cardinals 20
MORE: NFC West playoff picture
- Buffalo Bills (-4.5) at Los Angeles Rams
Sunday, 4:25 p.m., Fox
The Bills are on a seven-game win streak, and they have scored 30 or more points in six straight games. They are still in the hunt for home-field advantage, so a let-down game on the West Coast seems improbable given the Rams are 3-3 S/U at home this season. Los Angeles allows 114.2 rushing yards per game this season. James Cook should have a big game here.
Pick: Bills 34, Rams 22

- Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers (-4)
Sunday, 4:25 p.m., Fox
The Bears fired Matt Eberflus after the Thanksgiving disaster against the Lions. How much of a bump will that provide under interim coach Thomas Brown? San Francisco will be without Christian McCaffrey (knee) again, but they are still just two games out in the NFC West race. Brock Purdy has a get-right game at home.
Pick: 49ers 28, Bears 18

- Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (-4)
Sunday, 8:20 p.m., NBC/Peacock
The Chiefs’ charmed season continues no matter how many injuries or officiating controversies pop up. Kansas City beat Los Angeles 17-10 by limiting the Chargers to 55 rushing yards. Gus Edwards and Kimani Vidal must have success on the ground for Los Angeles against Kansas City’s third-ranked run defense. Isiah Pacheco is settling back in for Kansas City, and he is the X-factor in this against the Chargers. Kansas City grinds out yet another victory and breaks a streak of six games without covering the spread.
Pick: Chiefs 23, Chargers 17
MORE: Chiefs set record for one-score winning streak
- Cincinnati Bengals (-5.5) at Dallas Cowboys
Monday, 8:15 p.m., Monday, ESPN
Which preseason Super Bowl contender has been more disappointing? The Bengals have allowed 37.7 points and 446 yards per game through a three-game losing streak. Dallas is nowhere as prolific as those offenses, but Cooper Rush has settled in and Rico Dowdle has offered a spark in the running game. Joe Burrow leads a road victory, but Micah Parsons, who has 5.5 sacks in his past four games, will not make it easy.
Pick: Bengals 26, Cowboys 21
