Retail, online betting, gaming growth drive Massachusetts revenue rise
Total taxable gaming revenue in Massachusetts, US, rose 18 per cent year-on-year in September to US$165.6m.
Up from $140.2m in September 2023, the latest figure released by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission showed a 21.8 per cent rise month-on-month from August’s $136.6m.
Total sports betting revenue in the Bay State in September hit $73.5m, up 47.5 per cent year-on-year and up by 120.2 per cent from August’s $33.3m.
Total casino taxable gaming revenue in Massachusetts climbed 1.9 per cent from last September to $92.1m but fell 10.9 per cent from August’s $103.3m.
The sports betting revenue came from total handle, across retail and online settings, of $678.7m, which climbed 32.5 per cent year-on-year and 51.7 per cent month-on-month.
