SkillOnNet Awarded Provisional License in Brazil, Launches Two Brands | iGaming Future
SkillOnNet, a leading global gaming operator, has been granted provisional authorization to operate in Brazil, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion into the Latin American market. The first SkillOnNet brands to launch in Brazil are PlayUZU.bet.br and BacanaPlay.bet.br, both of which bring distinct features and unique selling points to cater to a wide range of casino players in the newly regulated market.
This licensing achievement represents a key milestone for the Malta-based gaming giant in the rapidly growing Latin American region. SkillOnNet, known for its award-winning PlayUZU brand, has previously expanded into regulated markets in Mexico, Peru, and Buenos Aires City in Argentina.
The new licensing regime, which came into effect on January 1, 2025, follows the passage of a law signed by Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in December 2023, regulating and taxing online gaming. According to regulatory intelligence analyst Vixio, Brazil’s online gaming and betting market is expected to exceed $2.9 billion in gross annual revenue in 2025, with projections reaching nearly $6.3 billion by 2028.
BacanaPlay, which launched in Portugal in 2020, has rapidly gained recognition in the Portuguese-speaking market. The brand, with “bacana” meaning “cool” in Portuguese, offers a fun and approachable experience for players. PlayUZU.bet.br, the Portuguese-language version of SkillOnNet’s successful Spanish brand, has also proven popular in Latin America. PlayUZU differentiates itself with its “fair” online casino model, featuring no wagering requirements and money back on every bet, win or lose.
SkillOnNet operates over 40 brands in regulated markets globally and provides a diverse and expansive gaming platform, featuring premium content from top software providers, exclusive slots, and dedicated live casino tables.
Pedro Garcia Country Manager for Brazil at SkillOnNet said: “We believe Brazil will quickly become one of the biggest online gaming markets in the world. Our goal is to be a tier-one casino operator in this hugely significant new market by investing aggressively in marketing and brand development and establishing a strong local team. Our licensing in Brazil is a reflection of our commitment to regulatory compliance and to fair and responsible gaming, and we’re excited to showcase our specially localized high-quality content to a massive new audience.”
