Taurus Monthly Horoscope
MONTH OF April
Letting go of what you know isn’t easy, Taurus. But that’s what April is here to teach you—and resistance is futile. With the Sun, Mercury retrograde AND a solar eclipse all sweeping through Aries and your twelfth house of closure, healing and endings, you’ve got some cosmic housecleaning to do. Clear the decks of what no longer serves you and make way for a new chapter.
Silver lining? By the time Taurus season begins on April 19, you’ll be ready to blast into a new level of personal success. A special meetup of Jupiter and Uranus in your sign on April 20 will add rocket fuel to your ascent. (More on that in a bit!)
The first three weeks of the month are your annual planetary palate cleanser. And it starts from the get-go since Mercury, the planet of communication, travel and technology, is retrograde from April 1 to 25. The quicksilver planet will reverse through Aries and your foggy twelfth house, which could make it hard to focus. You may be distracted by an intense trip down memory lane, or perhaps you’ll be especially nostalgic and sentimental. Roll with it, Taurus, and let yourself feel those emotions. Sweeping them under the proverbial Persian rug doesn’t mean they aren’t there.
And if you’re still not processing them, you will be by the second week of this month. Prepare to have your molecules rearranged on April 8, when the Aries new moon arrives as a total solar eclipse and supermoon. Visible across much of the United States, this highly-anticipated cosmic event will do a “hard reset” on your system.
April 8 features SIX Aries placements in our sky map: the Sun, moon, Mercury, Venus, the north node and healer-feeler Chiron. We’ve dubbed this day the Chironeclipse, since Chiron is in a tight conjunction with the Sun and moon. Whatever you’ve been clinging to, you’ll finally be ready to release in favor of a brand-new chapter. Old fears, limiting beliefs and childhood patterns can surface, giving you a golden opportunity for closure. Endings are beginnings—and beginnings are endings. You’ll feel that paradox as the eclipse ushers you through its portal.
Rebirthing ain’t easy, but the discomfort will pay off soon enough. On April 19, the Sun starts its annual sojourn through Taurus and your first house of selfhood and personal priorities. Ah, now that’s more like it! Between now and May 20, put your goals front and center. Your vibrant can-do energy makes a comeback.
This year’s Taurus season comes with an extra booster rocket as both iconoclastic Uranus and expansive Jupiter are in your sign, firing you up for a radical change of path. And on April 20, they’ll make a rare exact conjunction (meetup)—in YOUR sign.
Jupiter-Uranus conjunctions only happen once every 14 years, and the last time these two liberated planets united in Taurus was in May 1941. A big deal? Definitely! This can be a once- or twice-in-a-lifetime thing, a moment to break free from perceived limits. While your sign isn’t the biggest fan of change, you could launch into a whole new life direction. Jupiter is in Taurus until May 25, so events sparked by this cosmic connection could play out noticeably over the next month or so.
Is there an area of life that’s felt confining or stuck? Adventurous Jupiter and up-for-anything Uranus will embolden you to break free. Prepare to travel far beyond the well-defined edges of your comfort zone. If eclipse season didn’t deliver enough “anything can happen” moments, April 20 could bring on some OMGs. From debuting a dramatic new look to taking a leap of faith on a passion project, you’ll feel the call to make a sharp left turn into new terrain.
Just a gentle reminder that Mercury is still retrograde until April 25. If you make a change that can’t be easily reversed—which you could—make sure you’re prepared to live with whatever it is. And bear in mind that you’re likely to be unusually impulsive today, especially around a personal desire!
Relationships take the spotlight at the April 23 Scorpio full moon, which falls in your seventh house of committed partnerships. You might decide to move forward with a romantic or business alliance, or perhaps you’ll take a whole new direction.
This is a perfect checkpoint for all your closest ties: Is there a balanced give-and-take? Does everyone feel heard and happy? Under the illuminating full moon, you can make the necessary adjustments and get back in sync. If all is well between you, take this day to express appreciation and spend quality time together.
By the time Mercury turns direct (forward) on April 25, it could feel like you’ve been through a year’s worth of changes and growth in a single month. But you’ll certainly emerge wiser for it, so embrace the adventure as much as you can. You made it through the intensity, and now what’s left to do? Enjoy the rest of Taurus—and birthday—season. It’s time to celebrate.
Whiplash! April could find you craving fantasy-fueled love AND the call of freedom. From April 5 to 29, Venus is in Aries and your twelfth house of sweet escape and romantic illusions. Venus is here from April 5 to 29. Meantime, spicy Mars is in Pisces and your liberated eleventh house until April 30. One part of you wants to be swept away, while another side wants to savor the sweetness of sovereignty!
The confusing part of April: Figuring out which way your inner Bull should charge. You’re not a fan of being pulled in dueling directions like this.
With Venus in Aries, alongside an April 8 solar eclipse AND Mercury in reflective retrograde, you may be swept up in a romantic reverie. In some cases, you could be wondering, Is this too good to be true? The twelfth house is the domain of rose-colored glasses and clandestine affairs, so it could be hard to tell what’s a figment of your imagination and what’s actually unfolding as a legitimate reality. Don’t stress too much about having to know “for sure”—part of the point is to surrender to what life and love are serving up. Just don’t rush into a long-term commitment with someone you’ve only just met.
With a solar eclipse and Mercury retrograde in Aries, a lot of emotions could get stirred up this month. Figuring out what’s “theirs” and what’s “yours” in this department can be tricky. A partner’s issues, including addiction, personal entanglements or a troubled family life, might seem like something you have to save them from, but they’re not, Taurus. Pay extra attention to establishing healthy boundaries.
No more making excuses for bad behavior! The April 10 meetup of Mars and boundary-hound Saturn can help you lay down clear expectations. When Jupiter and Uranus unite in Taurus on April 20, you could make a swift and sudden exit from a toxic situation that’s been draining you. Your confidence could also get a major boost.
When Venus moves into Taurus on April 29, you’ll have nearly a month (until May 23) to enjoy some sweet spring fever and the blossoming of a new romantic chapter. Just in time for Taurus season!
A lot of the month will be spent tying up loose ends, Taurus, and deciding which parts of your life are ready for an upgrade or a grateful release. You’ve grown so much in the past year, thanks to expansive Jupiter’s visit to Taurus. This cycle, which started on May 16, 2023, only happens once every 12 years. When it does, it kicks off a brand-new chapter that may cause you to radically reevaluate what you’ve been doing for the last decade—and craft a new path for the next decade-plus.
April is particularly important because on the 20th, Jupiter will unite with trailblazing Uranus, the planet of sudden change and innovation, for the first time since 2010. The duo will connect in YOUR sign, which could bring a lightning-bolt epiphany or an exciting opportunity to share your work.
Could your ideas use a supportive co-star? When the April 23 Scorpio full moon shines in your partnership house, you could join forces with someone whose skills and strengths complement yours. Explore, but do so with caution until Mercury turns direct on April 25. Ask questions and make sure you feel totally confident until then.
