Which Texans compete today?

Sha’Carri Richardson

The Dallas native finally made her Olympic debut, qualifying for the 100m semifinal by running a 10.94 in the preliminary round Friday. She is the reigning World Champion in the event after taking gold in 2023, and she recently ran a world-leading 10.71 seconds to win this year’s U.S. championship.

Simone Biles

The undisputed greatest gymnast in the world and Texas’ own Simone Biles will compete today in the women’s vault final. Biles shined in the women’s all-around final, taking home another gold medal. After a case of the “twisties” ended her Tokyo Olympic hopes early and forced the U.S. to fight for an unexpected silver medal, expect Biles and Team USA to be out for redemption Tuesday at 11:15 a.m.

Scottie Scheffler

Olympic golf is underway and after two round the world No. 1 golfer sits in a tie for tenth at 6-under. Don’t worry, Dallasites, there are still two more rounds to play. Catch him when he tees of for Round 3 at 12:06 p.m.

Kevin Durant

The former University of Texas standout and NBA champion will be a part of a U.S. basketball squad that takes on Puerto Rico in their final game in group play at 10:15 a.m.

When will Sha’Carri Richardson run?

The Dallas native runs in the 100m semifinals today at 12:50 p.m. and potentially the final later in the day at 2:20 p.m.

Other Texans competing and when

Scottie Scheffler

The Highland Park native will continue his Olympic golf tournament with the third round today at 2 a.m.

The final round is also at 2 a.m. on Sunday. All rounds will be shown on the Golf Channel and streaming on Peacock.

Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Hezly Rivera

After making her third consecutive Olympic Games, Spring native Biles will continue her competition today in the women’s vault final at 9:20 a.m joined by Spring resident Chiles.

The individual events finish on Monday, Aug. 5.
