Today’s daily horoscope for Aug. 4, 2024
Magical New Moon
Abracadabra is a one-word spell with a meaning along the lines of, “Make it so.” An even more efficient and magical spell is a one-syllable utterance: “Yes!” Saying yes puts you on a path, and that’s really where the dazzling experience happens. During this magical new moon in the sign of the dazzling cat, “abracadabra” is the result — “yes” is the journey.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Supportive people appreciate you for who you are and don’t expect anything other than it. You won’t have to seek environments of growth, understanding and acceptance because they’ll grow around you wherever you are.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You will model the behavior you want to see from another. Were you not able to do this, it would be wrong to ask them to. But you are able, and to such a high level that what you ask of them should seem comparatively minor.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Purge your closest of all the things that remind you of a past you don’t want to keep holding onto. Reach out to the ones you haven’t talked to in a while and update them on your current status.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Why go for a silver lining when linings also come in gold? Instead of looking for the good in a situation, look for the stellar opportunity, which is also there and takes just as long to find — you just have to know to search for it.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). No need to wait until you have comprehensive and up-to-date information — no one else has it either. That it even exists may be a myth. Dive in and do what you can with what you know and you’ll soon know more.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Compassion can be mistaken for passivity or weakness, but of course, it’s far from that. It takes willpower to show restraint. It’s easier to jump in and fix things yourself, but you’ll let someone learn so they can help themselves next time.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Beautiful photographs could be lit with sunshine, enshrouded in fog or made mysterious by interesting shadows. There’s never one kind of beauty, and because you’re open to it, you’ll find astounding visions in every light.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Problems don’t obey laws of scale and can be granular and still seem as heavy as the whole universe inside one person. If it’s a big deal to you, it’s a big deal period.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). What used to cause frustration is now turning into a source of pride as you figure things out. Patience is still required. You’re almost in the clear. Your attitude is stellar and so will be your results.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You trust the journey even when the path is unclear. You make friends with uncertainty. It’s a simple agreement within you, but it’s all that’s necessary to transform fear into an adventure of discovery and growth.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You’ll like being someone’s confidante, a midnight call or the first line of support — in fact, you consider it an honor. They’ll lean on you in the days to come, and you can be proud of the bond you’ve built.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Your experience is made by what you notice, which is why you can be at the exact same location as someone else at the same time with the same people and have a completely different takeaway. You’re looking for the cheerful take, and you’ll find it.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 4). Your generosity helps you stay grounded as your influence reaches the sky. The wins aren’t just for you. You’ll turn victory into an opportunity to help and promote others. More highlights: A special person sparkles up your days. You’ll be invited into a sacred circle of trust. You’ll lead projects and adventures and shape a vision for the group. Aquarius and Sagittarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 33, 1, 15, 27, 6 and 2.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: The leadership style of former U.S. President Barack Obama, which is characterized by thoughtful deliberation and a commitment to consensus-building, left an indelible mark on American politics. Obama was born under the Leo sun and has Mercury and Uranus in the spotlight of Leo as well. Obama’s moon and Venus are in Cancer, the sign of home and patriotism and also the astrological sign of the United States of America.
