The United States, a land of iconic landmarks, vibrant cities, and breathtaking natural beauty, is about to become even more accessible to international visitors. In a move designed to supercharge the tourism industry, the US has announced an expansion of its visa-free travel program. This means citizens from a wider range of countries will be able to visit the US for leisure or business purposes for 90 days without the need for a cumbersome visa application process.

Who Can Go To US Visa-Free?

The tourism industry is a significant contributor to the US economy, generating jobs and tax revenue. However, recent years have seen a decline in international visitors due to various factors. The expansion of the visa-free travel program aims to reverse this trend. Hence, the countries eligible for entry into the US under the VWP include Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Netherlands, New Zealand, Luxembourg, Malta and Monaco.

This expansion is expected to decrease the “Rest of the World” category from 37% to 35% of total international arrivals. In simpler terms, the US is aiming to attract even more tourists by making it easier for people from a wider range of countries to visit visa-free.
