Up, Up, and Away: The Top Destinations Iowans Fly to the Most [LIST]

Everyone loves a vacation, right? It’s a chance to get away, spend some time somewhere that’s not home, and ultimately spend too much money. Ahh, vacation.

For many of us, that’s when we hop on a plane. Of course, some folks travel for work, a wedding, or less joyful things like a funeral.

Have you ever wondered where Iowans go the most when they fly? Well good news, I have some answers!

Up, Up, and Away!

The Des Moines International Airport gives travelers the most options when flying from Iowa, so it’s the easiest to use for this study.

Number 19 is Orange County, which ironically named its airport after legendary Iowa native John Wayne. For number 18, Iowans fly to beautiful St Pete Clearwater International.
