WWE’s Big 4 Event Reportedly Not Taking Place in the United States in 2026 – Times of India
WWE has always been known to host its series of Big 4 events in the primary market of the United States. However, according to a recent report, one of those popular shows is set to take place outside the USA.
WWE has entered 2025 with a huge wave of momentum, owning to the spectacular success they experienced in the last year. However, the company has always been planning for the long run, already having plans for the next year much before.
One of those plans will see one of the major events, WWE SummerSlam take place under a two-day format in 2026 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Although the 2025 edition of WWE SummerSlam will also be a two-night show, the announcement of the 2026 show was made months prior and was the first major plan for WWE in that year. Now, the reported plans for another popular Premium Live Event, which is part of the WWE Big 4 with SummerSlam, have been revealed with a surprising twist.
Which Big 4 WWE Premium Live Event is not taking place in the USA in 2026?
According to a new report by PWInsider, the highly popular Big 4 WWE event, Royal Rumble, will take place in Saudi Arabia in 2026. This comes as a surprising move by the company to host one of its most significant events outside its primary market, i.e., the. United States.
WWE has had a deep relationship with Saudi Arabia since 2018 when the company signed a 10-year deal with them to host major shows in their cities. The deal also saw them open WWE Experience, a world-class fan experiential zone in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Moreover, at the 2024 WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event, the company crowned the first-ever WWE Crown Jewel Champions in the Men’s and Women’s divisions, Cody Rhodes and Liv Morga,n respectively.
In regards to the Royal Rumble, it was the very starting point of WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia. WWE hosted its very first Saudi show in 2018, titled ‘The Greatest Royal Rumble.’ It took place at theon April 27, 2018, at the King Abdullah Sports City’s King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The event saw some of the top names like John Cena, Roman Reigns, The Undertaker, Triple H and Brock Lesnar compete at the show. Moreover, the event was headlined by the first-ever 50 man over-the-tope-rope Rumble match, which was won by Braun Strowman.
With reports hinting towards WWE Royal Rumble 2026 taking place in Saudi Arabia, it could be seen as an expansion of WWE’s third longest running special event in history.
